Artist Residency at Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute has been expanded to accept applications from mature visual artists (painters, photographers, sculptors, printmakers and Ceramicists,) is open to mature artists of all levels of experience , provided that they are self-directed and mature enough in their work to be immersed in the residency. Artists are welcomed from around the world and will be given formal invitation letters to assist them when applying for grants and funding in their home countries.
Costs & Fees
Residency Costs are set at 2000Yuan, per week, (approximately $300USD.)
Deposits
A 1350Yuan, (approximately $200USD) deposit is will be required to guarantee their place in the program. A PayPal Invoice will be forwarded to the candidate upon acceptance into the residency program. The candidate can elect to pay the deposit via international bank transfer. They must request this option soonest after receiving acceptance so that the proper transfer documentation can be forwarded to them.

Program Detail
Emphasis of the residency program at Sanbao is working with hands, in a setting of simple daily life, with local craftsmen, and artists from all over the world in an atmosphere of creative and cultural exchange. Sanbao seeks to provide artists with time, space and materials to create a body of work in an inspiring and rich environment.
Residency terms can be from a minimum of 4 weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks. Sanbao Ceramic Working Village will be open for residency from May 1 to November 30.
Residents are encouraged to learn some Chinese before coming. Do not be intimidated by the language barrier, there will be competent interpreters and English speakers on site, but speaking a little Chinese makes things more fun! Residents will be assisted in organizing shows in Jingdezhen and at Sanbao Ceramic Art Museum. Residents are also encouraged to bring their slide presentations with them as there will be opportunity to give presentations about their work the other residents and for the benefit of the art students of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute.
