Day One

Arrive in Shanghai, Hotel downtown, rest and recovery from jet lag.

Two

Private but to Yixing and visit old part of Yixing. Stay at a hotel in Dinshang.

Three

Teapot making workshop at master's studio with traditional tea service, visit local artists' studios, dinner with local artists.

Four

Bus trip to Jin County, with a visit to a pottery and dragon kiln village, in the area.

Five

Visit old traditional rice paper making village and then travel to Taiping, north of the Yellow Mountain.

Six

Morning visits to the local markets and touring old Ming villages.

Seven

Bus trip across the Yellow Mountain to Jingdezhen. Stay at a hotel in the city.

Eight - 12

Jingdezhen, Sanbao, Exhibition, Lectures and Symposium.   Workshops and porcelain factory and studio visits.  Studio and free time for creativity. Visit to Yaoli, an old Ming village.

Fly to Kunming, Yunnan province, where the richest minorities are living with traditional crafts.

Touring the local craft museums and local markets.

Bus trip to Dali; visit local textile and tie-dye studios.  Check into our hotel.

A day Bus trip to Weishang where we will experience the old kingdom of Bai people, visit Weishang Buddhist temples and Islamic village and their local market. Return to Dali for the evening rest.

Bus trip to Lijiang; stop one of the most unique old towns under UN preservation. Stop at a silver-making village.

Touring the Lijiang area, visiting old villages and markets.

Bus back to Dali, stopping to visit an old pottery village

Fly back to Shanghai. Rest in Hotel. Farewell dinner.

Visit Shanghai Museum, Old Port of Shanghai, (the Pudong), and Gallery Area.

Bus to Pudong Airport to catch flights home.
